Rallying.
Throughout my competitive riding days I still kept my hand in on the motorsport side of things, by doing some autotests with my local motor club (Berwick and District) but I had the urge to go on and compete in a bigger more competitive environment.
Gearing up and getting my rally licence I headed out to my first event.
It was a tarmac rally and I was driving a fantastic Peugeot 205, safe to say from this day forward I was hooked!
Following my first event I was offered a car for the Citroen C2 Ecosse Challenge which was part of the Scottish Rally Championship, this is a gravel championship and that was a whole different ball game, within the first stage of my first event I fell in love with the forestry.
My first season was almost completed and I was so determined to do another season I sent as many sponsorship letters out as I possibly could and managed to gather up the funds for a second season in the C2 on gravel. After the success in my first year becoming 1st C2 junior, 2nd Scottish Championship junior and 3rd Scottish lady I was desperate for more results.
Season two we had some of our best individual rally results we had ever had, finishing up in the top 30 overall in a couple of events, topping the C2 podiums on more occasions and bringing home the Scottish Ladies Championship title, of course we had lots of learning curves along the way but they only fueled the fire and made me more determined.
